Milan & Paris, 4 March 2025Pledg, the French fintech specializing in buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) financing, has announced a strategic partnership with Trustfull, a leader in fraud prevention technology.

This collaboration will empower Pledg and its portfolio of partners with advanced customer pre-screening capabilities, ensuring seamless purchasing experiences for consumers while effectively preventing credit fraud.
Amid a rise in consumers seeking financial flexibility and the option to spread the cost of their purchases, the European BNPL market is projected to grow from US$147.6 billion in 2023 to US$272.5 billion by 2029 (Source).
In this context, the need for robust fraud protection against synthetic identity fraud has increased. This type of fraud involves creating a fake identity using a combination of real and fabricated user details to obtain financing with no intention of paying it back.
Trustfull leverages open-source intelligence and real-time analysis of user contact details, such as email addresses and phone numbers, to detect suspicious activity early and prevent progression of fraudulent applications.
Trustfull’s technology analyzes hundreds of digital signals—such as email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, browser, and device data—to assess user risk in real time. This enables  BNPL providers to quickly and accurately identify high-risk applicants, while ensuring a seamless customer experience for low-risk users.
Founded in 2016, Pledg became a 100 percent subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance in February 2024, just a year ago. The company serves a wide range of clients in both B2C and B2B sectors, including Club Med, Carrefour Voyages, and FNAC DARTY. The company is committed to optimizing conversion rates and boosting sales through simple, fluid, and secure financing solutions.

Adrien Bonhomme, CPO at Pledg commented:
"Our mission has always been to simplify payment processes while providing an exceptional experience for both consumers and merchants. Trustfull’s silent checks help us achieve the dual objective of strengthening our fraud prevention controls while maintaining optimal conversion rates across all our channels."

Stephane Chatelain, Sales Director for France at Trustfull, added:
"As the BNPL sector matures, it’s encouraging to see leaders like Pledg step up their fraud prevention controls. At Trustfull, we are proud to support Pledg’s growth mission with seamless and accurate pre-screening that minimizes risk, protects customers and prevents losses.”
